What My Clients Think
Here’s what our AMAZING clients have to say.
Casci Designworks, Inc. provided a wonderful service for us in designing our kitchen. We were provided with 3 well layed out options and we chose the one that was perfect for our lifestyle. They (Steve) offered us his resources of a builder, appliance shop and tile/stone companies and they were all top notch. He has all the other resources you will need for any project. Steve was fun and easy to work with and remains a friend. The project was on time and we couldn’t be more happy. Highly recommend Casci Designworks, Inc for your project.
Steve Casci remodeled our 1980’s-style kitchen and two bathrooms about eight years ago. His designs more than met our expectations, and his willingness to help us through what we felt was a new and difficult process made us true believers not only in his design skills, but as someone we could trust to help us make the best decisions throughout the entire process.
Fast forward to today to update our 1980’s-style master bathroom. One of Steve’s many talents is his ability to carefully listen to the concepts and preferences a client has and create an amazing design that makes those ideas come alive. In this second project, Steve’s very thoughtful, innovative and creative design absolutely captured the calmness, beauty, and new/different look I was searching for. He also expertly guided me through those perplexing decisions and issues we clients have that make the outcome exactly what we want (even if we might not initially envision them), such as color schemes, fixtures, countertops, cabinets, floors, paint, lighting, etc. – so many decisions! Having his knowledge, vision, patience and humor available to help make those choices was invaluable.
Throughout the entire renovation process, I trusted Steve to be the professional, creative, supportive, respectful, and committed person I’d known during our first renovation years ago and was not disappointed. I am so very grateful for all Steve did to make my dream come true.
Steve Casci is a talented professional who will always call you back! We are lucky that he took our project. He designed our second story addition, and we couldn’t be happier. He really listened to what we needed and wanted for our home. Also, Steve is a great guy. It was a pleasure to work with him. He is kind and laid back, and in our hectic household, he was calm in the storm. We have referred friends to him as well. Steve told us that there was never a better time to start our project than now, and he was right. We have our family home now.
It has been a pleasure to work with Steve and his team on many occasions. Steve has a proven methodical process from start to finish to give each and every client the very best outcome. From his initial design appointment, to finishing touches and textures, to collaboration with Contractors until the final product is achieved, he has exceeded our expectation time and time again. I have and will continue to refer CasciDesignWorks to my friends and clients that are looking for a first class renovation to their home.
Steve was awesome throughout the whole project. I had full kitchen, laundry and master bathroom remodel. From design (Feb 2021) to completion (November 2022), Steve was always available. In addition to creating a fantastic design for all rooms, Steve scheduled time to meet with me with for all product selections (flooring/countertops/hardware/lighting/appliances etc). His recommendations for general contractor and other vendors were all spot on and worked out great. He answered any and all questions during the process and would communicate any issues in a timely manner. I am extremely happy with the final product and highly recommend Casci DesignWorks, Inc. if you are considering any type of remodel or construction projects.
After living in what I called ‘grandmas house’ for eight years we were finally ready to tackle a huge remodel. We started our remodel plans with Steve right before covid which derailed our timeline for our project by a year. Steve stuck with us reaching out, letting us know he was there and ready to start again when we were! After many revisions to our plans and budget we were on our way! We opened up our kitchen to our living room and dining room by removing a wall and bringing up the flooring to the same height as the rest of the house. We now we have a beautiful open concept ready for entertaining and cooking and also a view of our backyard! Other things completed were new black casement windows and white exterior paint which has changed the whole look and feeling of our house….We love how our house looks now inside and out! People driving by stop and tell us how great our house looks also! Steve was with us on all planning and design aspects, taking us to see cabinet, appliance, countertop, tile & flooring specialists. Steve also set us up with a contractor that fit our personality to a T! He proved his worth and value guiding us threw the whole process seamlessly. He was upfront about what was possible and what was not within our reach, always punctual with meetings and any communications. We are super pleased….beyond pleased with the results and highly recommend Casci DesignWorks!
Our house was in need of some remodeling of the kitchen and two bathrooms. After searching for the path I wanted to take to achieve a beautiful outcome, I came across some beautiful kitchen and bath design work done by Steve Casci when looking on the Houzz website. Following the link to the Casci DesignWorks’ website, I was delighted to see a nice variety of Steve’s projects. His designs and use of lighting caught my eye which impressed me and my husband. We had a small galley kitchen, living room, and family room and wanted a more open concept. With Steve’s design two walls, one with a fireplace, were removed to open up this space. The fireplace was not used much with mandatory “No Burn” days in Sacramento, and the open space is so well worth it. Both bathrooms were remodeled also and our master bathroom was small with a small stall shower which was increased in size with Steve’s design. It was an exciting experience from the preliminary drawings to shopping for beautiful kitchen appliances, amazing quartzite countertops, tile, beautiful cabinetry, and lighting. We were able to refinish our hardwood flooring and add perfectly matched hardwood floors in the opened up areas. Steve’s experience in working with older homes shows, as soffits were removed and wasted spaces between walls were utilized by opening them up. Steve’s design gave this house I grew up in a whole new look that we love. His support thoughout the process made this a positive remodeling experience
We had no specific design in mind, but we knew we wanted an experienced designer to help with the designs, securing Contractors and guiding us through material selections. Steve was great for us – asking the right questions and guiding us through options and considerations during the design process. He was accessible and easy to work with. He has great/expansive industry contacts that came in handy on an issue we had with material availability. Steve matched us up with a great General Contractor and was available through the construction. Overall great experience. We write this review of Steve Casci’s architecture and design work with great appreciation and the highest recommendations.
The project that Steve designed in our house entailed removing walls and creating a new kitchen and a living room. In the process, Steve applied creative thinking to implement our needs and visions. He always suggested new ideas and demonstrated initiatives that made our dreams come true. He is well connected with the top contractors, kitchen designers, and all the necessary renovation suppliers.
Importantly, Steve was straightforward and pleasant to communicate with and adjusted his schedule when needed. He effectively communicated with the contractor and us. He took ownership of this project from start to finish and was very reliable.
In summary, Steve had a tremendously positive contribution to our overall project. He is sincere, punctual, creative, and professional. We would not hesitate to hire him again.
Our house is 25+ yrs old – the kitchen layout wasn’t working anymore; the master bath had a tub last used 6 yrs ago for a dog bath. Guest bathrm was looking tired; kids bathrm lived a hard life through kids young adult years.

I hired Casci DesignWorks after talking with two neighbors who raved about working with Steve. We wanted to remodel our kitchen and open up our space by removing a wall. When we initially met, he discussed a layout that I just could not see. He asked me to trust him and I am so glad I did! He has a good eye for use of space and the smallest details. We love our kitchen and are so happy we followed his advice every step of the way.
We so appreciated Steve’s eye for design. Our kitchen remodel did not involve moving walls or much infrastructure, but Steve helped us completely transform the look of our 2004 builder’s grade kitchen. Functionality and clean lines are a hallmark of his commitments. You will find him open to suggestions and immanently flexible. He delivered designs plan on time and also personally met us to select finish materials and appliances. A complete and total professional, Steve is someone I would work with again without hesitation
I have had the pleasure of working with Steve Casci of Casci DesignWorks Inc. for 20+ years. I respect his commitment to the help he extends to his clients in their remodeling and new construction projects. He has consistently shown professionalism and a high level of creativity along with technical skills that meet his clients needs. He pays attention to detail but is able to execute creativity at the same time. The way he communicates with his collective team of contractors works to everyone’s advantage..
Steve Casci has always been a pleasure to work with from start to finish on a project. As a supplier of cabinetry, having a professional like Steve to collaborate with has been exciting and fun. I would highly recommend Steve for any kitchen or bath remodel.
I have worked with Casci Designworks for the past 15 years, it has been a wonderful experience. Steve brings a wealth of design knowledge, experience and excitement to a project. As a sub contractor we appreciate the details and planning that Steve puts into his projects, this is what allows us to perform on a professional level and meet deadlines. We look foreword to many more years and exciting new projects!!!
“Our family thinks that Steve Casci is the best kitchen designer ever! Our kitchen project was the first remodeling we had ever done, and we were clueless where to start. After interviewing several designers we felt the most comfortable with Steve. He listened to our needs and wants, created several flexible designs for us to consider, and saw the kitchen project through to the end. We are most grateful for his attentiveness to details and creative thinking ‘outside of the box’ that makes our dream kitchen unique. Thanks again!”
“It’s now a year from the completion of our kitchen and baths. Without Steve’s plans and guidance, our home would never have turned out as well as it did. The small half bath looked old and tired, so it too now looks as good as our kitchen and master bath. Thanks for the plans and your words of wisdom”
“My husband, Walt, and I had already been through one stage of our house remodel but needed to address the kitchen. We didn’t use a designer the first time around and agreed it might well be worth our money to hire one this time. We were right. Steve worked with us to find a plan that fit our family. He handled everything. He has contacts and previous experience, which was a great help in choosing materials and product placement. We ended up on-budget and time. In the long run, we saved money because we had a plan in place. I would highly recommend Steve as a designer.”
Steve is a true professional and leader in our Sacramento design community! We love having him come to our showroom with his clients and watch him work his magic. He always has a warm smile yet is thoughtful in guiding our mutual clients through the process of designing their home. It is a pleasure to work with him, for sure.
Steve is truly a pleasure to work with. He listened carefully and designed a kitchen that is surely going to be spectacular! He has a great sense of humor and you just know that you are in good hands. He is a true professional in every sense.
We found Steve Casci of Casci DesignWorks on houzz.com while researching ideas for our kitchen remodel project. It never occurred to us to hire a professional to design our kitchen, but after inviting Steve to our home and sharing our dislikes and concerns about our old kitchen layout, his experiences, knowledge and creativity was a real sigh of relief. Steve pulled together the ideas we found on houzz and opened our eyes to his own creative ideas. He provided us with quality resources to buyout our cabinets and granite counter tops local to our area. We are extremely happy with the service by Casci DesignWorks and look forward to working with Steve on another project. Mike & Melissa 10/2016
We love this guy! He is easy to work with and is very knowledgeable. He doesn’t try to talk you into buying the most expensive stuff and really listens to what you want and don’t want. He also works with some great vendors who are extremely knowledgeable about their products and sell you what you want and need, not what will profit them the most. It’s hard to navigate through the many options we have had for our kitchen and bathroom remodel and Steve has made it so much easier. Our project has just started so we don’t have any photos yet…
Our project finished in January 2017. We are extremely happy with EVERYTHING. We absolutely love our new kitchen, fireplace, and updated bathroom!! When we are ready for more remodeling, of course Steve will be the first person we call!
Steve was great to work with. He listened to wants/needs and incorporated into his design. Very accommodating when making modifications. He not only spec’d the appliances, but provided links for each item with detailed information for my review. Steve made the whole project seem effortless! His connections with other quality vendors a huge +++ Would recommend to anyone and utilize again if the need arises. Thanks Steve !
I sell kitchen appliances and plumbing articles, and am frequently and inadvertently partnered with kitchen and bath designers by our mutual clients. Despite applying “CKD”, “CBD”, and many other certification titles after their names, and despite their vast course of study at their local junior colleges, most of these “trade professionals” have poor taste in proportion, materials, accessibility, ergonomics, and simple mechanical function. Many self-proclaimed “designers” ultimately make things difficult and costly for their clients, and can recommend elements that damage appliances, floors, cabinetry, and walls.
This is simply not true with Casci Designworks.
I have known Steve Casci for nearly twelve years, and thank the stars that there exist professionals like him who can bring recognition and distinction to their trade. Not only does Mr. Casci possess the natural ability to lay out projects with optimum functionality in mind, he has the added talent of incorporating any style his clients wish to express–be it bauhaus or baroque, modern or moderne, renaissance or rustic, industrial, institutional, or Italianate. He can expose his clients to what is possible, then turn around and accomplish any and all of their goals.
Moreover, Steve Casci possesses a tremendous amount of knowledge regarding carpentry, electrical, cabinetry, plumbing, lighting and–yes—appliances. I find it refreshing to watch as he easily and simply can guide his clients through their process, taking charge of what can often seem to be an overwhelming endeavor. And the feedback I have enjoyed from our mutual clients about his demeanor and care has been solely positive.
In short, I cannot recommend Casci Designworks more highly.
Steve helped us plan and execute a much anticipated remodel of our master bathroom – he did an excellent job! We appreciated his ideas, creativity and follow-up. Thank you Steve!
When Steve Casci looked at our project, he was able to see way beyond what others had envisioned for our kitchen. Other companies wanted to simply replace old with new for a minimally different look. But his design completely changed the look and feel of not only the kitchen, but the entire surrounding great room. He listened to what we really wanted, incorporated the right look, and helped us match colors of the cabinets, quartz and granite countertops, flooring and walls. Steve stayed on top of our timeframes and made sure the project kept moving forward. We ended up with a much more beautiful kitchen than we thought possible. He also designed two bathrooms during the same process, and they look great too. He was always there when we had questions or needed support and his positive demeanor made it a pleasure to work with him.
Steve with Casci DesignWorks, Inc provided me with fantastic ideas, solutions and plans to convert my tiny kitchen into my dream kitchen. In addition to the kitchen, he helped me to solve the difficult layout of the rest of the house including two bathrooms, family room, and a master bedroom that had no privacy. Everything here, in my new house has a space. A place for everything and everything in it’s place. Entertaining and cooking are a huge part of my life and now I have the room to do so in the style that I love. I wanted to keep this home in the same style of the surrounding historical neighborhood. We were able to do so as well as keeping the “heart” of my home intact.
Steve designed our kitchen/family room two years ago so I can speak to the function of the remodel. I love it today as much as ever. We didn’t have a big space to work with; Steve maximized every inch in our small kitchen through clever reconfiguration. It works beautifully. Everyone who comes in is charmed.
Steve has a motto: KISS or Keep it simple stupid. He’s absolutely right. His vision saved me on several fronts. What we ended up with is luxurious but not overdone.
Steve is easy to work with. He absolutely listens to what you think you want and comes up with a plan better than you could have dreamed of.
I wholeheartedly recommend Casci Design for anyone’s home project.
When we first began the process of starting over with our dated, 70s kitchen, we knew it would take more than looking at a handful of home magazines to figure out what would work. Enter Steve – who saw the potential for our medium-sized space, and suggested things we didn’t consider. That’s why you hire a designer; he has the expertise to know how to configure a space based on how it will be used. From the materials to the cabinets, to recommendations for appliances, Steve was able to help us execute the vision we had for the kitchen into two other rooms. Given a choice between ‘making due’ with an inefficient existing layout, and going the extra mile to transform it into the heart of the house, we didn’t hesitate. It was worth the effort!
After searching the internet, my husband and I hired Steve Casci to give us some ideas on designing a major remodel of our home. Our project is still under construction after a year and it is just amazing to see Steve’s ideas and sketches on paper now coming to life. When he came to our residence initially we were still at the wall studs stage so his imagination had free range. He designed the kitchen around a beautiful stone cook top surround made out of stone to look like a big fireplace with the “chimney” going right up through the ceiling. It is a stunning central feature to our open floor plan kitchen/great room. Another fabulous feature is the double kitchen island giving the ultimate counterspace for a functinal room. In shopping for materials, Steve was able to listen to our preferences and help us find the right combination of tile and stone to complete the look. In fact, when searching for the right granite, I walked right past some slabs that had caught Steve’s eye. I was still reluctant until we looked closer and saw the features that his experience recognized – the project is a winery/vineyard property and the black granite (titanium) with white “clouds” that show incredible depth, also has red garnet like specks which look like wine spots. Talk about sealing the deal! It truly helps having a professional who is familiar with what something will look like in its environment. Steve is a great designer, a person who listens to ideas and preferences and who truly gets involved and excited for his clients as paper plans and sketches come to life! His experience shows!
I have remodeled kitchens and bathrooms in three different houses with Steve Casci and each one of them functions more efficiently and looks 100 times better. I found Steve to be creative In his design process, adept in solving space and function problems and very honest, reliable, and easy to work with. I really appreciated his encouragement when I tackled several DIY projects during construction. I will continue to hire Steve Casci as my “Go To” designer for all my remodeling projects. He has my highest recommendation for his professionalism and devotion to his projects and clients.
Best decision was to hire a professional. Our kitchen fits our home and our lifestyle. We have had many gatherings and peoples comments today are always positive and how they love gathering in our kitchen – the most common word – is its so “comfortable”! Steve was great to work with and offered some excellent suggestions that have withstood the test of time.
My husband & I decided we wanted to update our 1974 kitchen. We were operating as owner-contractor and needed Steve’s expertise in helping us create the perfect kitchen with the limited space we had available. We contracted Casci Design Works to create a design based on our existing dimensions. We worked our plans out over several different emails and soon we had working plans, the project was off and running. We were more than excited with his ideas! His suggestion to close the doorway into our breakfast nook and utilize that space as one continuous part of our kitchen was perfect. He took our small U-shaped kitchen with a nook and created a beautiful galley style kitchen that opened up to our living room and dining room by removing two walls and made it so much more functional.
Everything went smoothly and Steve was available whenever we needed him.
Although our kitchen remodel was done over fifteen years ago, Steve’s design withstood the test of time and contributed to the “wow” factor when we sold the house. Selling the house in the slow market of 2010 was a challenge; but our kitchen set us apart from other houses in the market and contributed to a quick sale at a top price. We would definitely retain Steve again for our design/remodeling needs, he adds true value to the property.
Steve was great to work with on our kitchen remodel. He helped provide a practical layout that fit our budget. He also offered to work with us every step of the way or just provide thoughtful suggestions. He was never pushy but encouraged us to make the choices that felt right for us
Steve designed our kitchen remodel, taking a very dysfunctional space and turning it into the kitchen of our dreams. He listened carefully to what we wanted and his design reflected our style beautifully. Steve incorporated details into the project that made it unique and very functional. He was easy to work with and very knowledgeable about all the elements including the appliances. We would highly recommend him!
Casci DesignWorks provided the utmost in professionalism, creativity and responsiveness. The design vision is created and proposed only after carefully listening to the customers tastes, ideas and objectives. Casci DesignWorks’ depth and breadth of experience ensures quality architectural and artistic design standards are met whatever the fiscal circumstances.
Steve exceeded our expectations with our kitchen design. The design is both functional and beautiful. Steve guided us every step of the way.
When my husband and I decided to remodel our kitchen, I came across Steve’s name from a newspaper article. I was impressed with the information I read about his work and decided to give him a call. During our first meeting, he spent a lot of time getting to know us in order to get a feel for what we each wanted in our new kitchen. In addition to creating the design, Steve helped us pick out cabinets, granite, tile, lighting, appliances, etc. He actually went shopping with us for most of these items. Steve managed to capture our individual personalities along with our lifestyle in the finished kitchen project. We absolutely LOVE it! We will definitely use him again when we remodel our master bath!
Steve designed our kitchen over 14 years ago, and I still love it! It’s very functional because Steve thought through all the details of how I would be using my kitchen and what my needs would be. Also, it doesn’t feel outdated even though it has been 14 years – he helped make sure I didn’t choose anything that was too trendy that would reveal it’s age. He also designed one of our bathrooms, which we completely gutted. I still love it too! I am now a professional home organizer and actually work with clients to use their space efficiently. A lot of the things I talk about with my clients are principles that I now know that Steve was using when he did our kitchen and bathroom. Actually, Steve designed a kitchen for my other house too, but we ended up moving to our current one before we implemented his design. Now I recommend him to my organizing clients.
When my husband and I began our kitchen remodel all we knew was that we wanted a space large enough for both of us to work, and a center island. Color, type of materials, layout, and appliances… those were issues which we had not thought about and of which we had no prior experience or knowledge. Steve guided us through the entire process from the biggest decision — selection of a general contractor, to the smallest detail — choice of cabinet hardware. He shopped with us for kitchen countertops, flooring, appliances, and wall paint color. The project was remarkably fast as remodels go (10 weeks) with no material or contractor delays. Ten years later we continue to enjoy and make use of our kitchen to the fullest extent. We give Steve the highest recommendation.
Steve helped us with our kitchen remodel 5 years ago. He was wonderful to work with! He gave us several plans to choose from and made sure we were 100% happy with the design before beginning. He took me appliance & cabinet shopping, we looked at tile and countertops together and he was on speed dial for every question I could come up with for 6 months. I would have gone crazy without his guidance. He saw our project through to the end and I know I could still call him 5 years later with questions or concerns. He has an abundant amount of resources here in Sacramento and knows what he is doing. He became a friend and I would highly recommend working with him!
I loved working with Casci DesginWorks. Steve helped us pick out a wonderful kitchen that was in our budget and looks stunning! He was responsive to my questions and my quirks.
My husband and I had the pleasure of working with Casci Design Works. Steve is very professional and he is very insightful when it comes to every aspect of the remodel we are planning to do. He has an outstanding personality and is very easy to work with, and he was so helpful with the design for our master bathroom. This was definitely a great choice for us!
Steve designed our master bathroom and did an extraordinary job. It was a huge renovation. Walls were moved, ceiling was lowered, a linear drain was installed to make an open shower. We have an entirely new bathroom. It was very dated before and drab. Now, it is a Zen oasis. We absolutely adore it. Steve stayed involved throughout the entire process, checking in with the contractors, stopping by to check the work, calling and texting us regularly to see if we were happy. I couldn’t recommend a more talented and committed person!
I hired Steve to completely rework my kitchen. We have not yet started construction, but I am so glad I have had Steve’s help so far. Between reworking a very complicated space, to helping me with appliances, cabinets, countertop surfaces, and tile…it’s been a very busy time and I would have been overwhelmed without some professional guidance. I will update as my project continues but as for the “planning” phase…we are just about done and will start demolition shortly…and I am encouraged that my kitchen is going to be awesome!
“Our biggest concern was not just finding an experienced designer. We were feeling a little daunted by all the decisions we knew we’d have to make. I found Steve via the yellow pages and after talking to him knew right away that he was our guy. He walked us through the whole process, listened and focused on what we wanted. He even went shopping with us for the cabinets, appliances, and fixtures. Realizing (after receiving 3 contractor bids) that it was going to be a bit more than I wanted to spend, Steve encouraged me to work as my own contractor to save money. He helped us find subcontractors and answered my questions along the way. We just decided to go for it, and it wasn’t that hard. By taking charge of the project myself, we saved $30,000.00. We can’t recommend Steve strongly enough. The level of expertise and service he provides puts him on a level above his competition.”
“We love what Steve did to our kitchen and family room. The new hutch and details to our fireplace really brought the rooms together. His attention to lighting makes everything so beautiful.”
“Steve was extremely helpful to us, making the decision process a lot more enjoyable and easier to deal with. Our kitchen is the best part of our new home.”
“We appreciated that Steve started out by giving us several different floor plans to look at. With his attention to the details, our kitchen has turned into a beautiful work of art.”
“Working with Casci DesignWorks, Inc. is always a rewarding experience for everyone involved. The clients are happy and well informed. The end results are usually breath-taking.”
“Steve’s motto “There are no problems, only solutions”, helped us to realize how to enjoy the process. His expertise and help through the endless decisions made it even kind of fun.
“Steve’s attention to Universal Design gave our new kitchen and bathroom the kind of details (raised dishwasher & oven, quality products) that will allow us to enjoy both well into our older years. With timeless style and function, Steve created what I wanted.”
“We interviewed two interior designers. The first showed up and proposed ‘her’ idea of a kitchen, and didn’t care much about our ideas. Steve showed up wearing sandals, shorts, and a smile. We talked about how we lived, what we liked and considered important, and shared ideas. Steve helped us throughout the design process and eliminated the stress and dread that often accompanies a remodel. We dare to say he made it fun from the layout to the selection of the materials and appliances and created a great kitchen that has logged many hours of fun with family and friends.”
“The use of Steve Casci and DesignWorks was as essential to our kitchen remodel as cabinets and appliances. His ability to walk us through the design, diffuse stress and combine ideas was essential to the process. His years of experience in kitchen design and the appliance industry was a proven asset that helped make our dream kitchen a practical reality. We are very pleased and proud of the end creation and would highly recommend his expertise.”
“After spending years of researching and coming up with no new ideas for the kitchen space we had, by a stroke of luck Steve Casci was recommended to us. In the first half hour of meeting with him, he had many ideas for a more functional kitchen along with creating a spacious island that has become the heart of our home. His attention to details in lighting, visual placement of outlets and knowledge of appliances all added up to a job well done. The entire process from start to finish was pure pleasure. Our only regret is that we did not connect with Steve sooner saving ourselves hundreds of hours of research.”
Steve has an incredible eye for design and a genuine heartfelt passion for his vision of bringing out the true character of a timeless structure. His knowledge and keen insight were instrumental in transforming my disjointed 1929 ‘gingerbread’ Tudor into a spaciously harmonious and stunningly beautiful work of art that leaves one breathless.
