As you can see by the before photo, this kitchen was pretty dated. Having known Kevin for over 45 years, he knew I would welcome the challenge. Already having the open floor plan, my focus was to bring a sense of symmetry and balance while moving from room to room. Besides completely remodeling the kitchen, we naturalized the large rock fireplace with a white wash and had the open beam ceiling painted white to get more lift. The island separating the kitchen from the family room is “where it all happens” says Kevin “whether we have company or not the island is party central”.
